◆ "24-7" 指的是"24 hours a day, 7 days a week" 。也就是「整天、隨時」的意思。

念的時後就念 "twenty-four seven" 。
炒魷魚

老板炒了他的魷魚, 因為他的工作表現不佳。
◆ cut the mustard 是個俚語, 指的是一個人在工作上的表現。
要注意的是, 這個俚語通常都是用負面的方式出現。

我媽會氣壞了如果她回來看到我們弄的這一團亂!
◆ "have a cow" 是「生氣」或「吃驚」的意思。
 
seeing a shrink  
　seeing a shrink
  He has been seeing a shrink for almost a year now.
 他過去將近一年來一直都在看心理醫生。
◆ shrink 的原意「縮小」的意思, 但是在俚語裡卻被用來指「精神科醫生」。所以 "seeing a shrink" 是「看精神科醫生」的意思。
◆ shrink 當「精神科醫生」解時, 相當於 psychiatrist 或 head-shrinker。
